Cerro Catedral is perhaps Argentina's most popular ski resort destination, comprised of gorgeous scenery overlooking Lake Nahuel Huapi and 100+ km (62+ miles) of great ski and snowboard trails. Located just 20 km (12 miles) west of Bariloche, this picturesque mountain boasts a wide range of on-site hotels, restaurants, boliches, and enough lifts to keep you moving all day. Come via bus or taxi for a day, or set up camp at the base of the mountain for a week of memorably scenic downhill runs.
Peak season stretches from mid June to mid October, and conditions vary depending on time of year and crowd size (which can get incredibly large, unfortunately). There are also plenty of options available to keep you engaged throughout the Southern Hemisphere's summer months as well, including hikes down from the mountain (after a ski lift ride to the top) and a mountain bike park. Do a little planning ahead of time and you'll have no issue making this mountain destination as adventurous as you want it to be.
