    • Summary

Just west of Bariloche, Cerro Lopez rises nearly 1700 m (5,577 ft) above beautiful Argentinean Patagonia. Though the mountain can be climbed to its summit, most hikers opt for the roughly 3 hour trek to the Lopez Shelter (Refugio), which stands at 1,620 meters. This can't miss pink cabin affords weary hikers incredible views over the renown 7 lakes and Nahuel Huapi National Park below. With a few stretches of boulder scrambling and a moderate incline the entire way up, you'll want to be sure to pack some snacks and water for the trek up, and a camera for once you get there.

Location:20 km (12 miles) west northwest of Bariloche, Argentina
