Home to seven universities and a large population of young party goers who attend them, Cordoba has plenty to offer the night owl in your traveling posse. It is admittedly not quite as wild as nights out in Buenos Aires or the boliches of Bariloche; still, Argentina’s second largest city has more than its fair share of bars, clubs, and live music hot spots to check out. It’s also worth bearing in mind that though it might be seen as tamer by comparison, if you’re looking for parties that start at 2am and last until the sun rises, this is still Argentina my friend, and you won’t go wanting here.
On the western outskirts of the city, Chateau Carreras is the neighborhood you’ll want to mosey towards if you and your friends are searching for stylish late night venues. Clubs like Club F and Carreras dominate the scene here, with more expensive covers and slightly older age restrictions to help keep out the riffraff. Closer to the city center the Abasto neighborhood offers a more bohemian vibe, with cool bars like Dorian Gray and live music venues like 990 Arte Club to satiate your craving for good times and unique atmospheres. Keep your eyes open for Los Andes and Las Heras Boulevards to guide your search, and if you don’t know this particular area well, a cab is a good way to get yourself safely to where you want to go.
If younger crowds are more your style, start at La Cañada (The Canal) with its plethora of cool patio bars, then hop over to the Nueva Cordoba district between Alvear and Chacabuco, south of the city center. University students here flock to streets like Hipolito Yrigoyen and Rondeau, which are replete with bars and clubs that offer a more frenetic pace and college-friendly pricing. You may also want to check out the Cerro de las Rosas barrio, which lies just north of Chateau Carreras. It’s a declining nightlife haunt these days (in favor of its southern neighbor), but still has some late night bars and eateries worth checking out, along with a cool view of the city, if you’re in the area. Now off with you!
