About 74 km (46 miles) up the coast from Florianopolis lies the small resort town of Bombinhas, known for an astounding 39 beaches. Any stretch of sand can be valuable for a day of relaxation in an area that is warm most months of the year, but there are a few that truly stand out. Bombinhas and Bombas are usually quite popular due to their picturesque location on a small bay at the northern end of the city, while Mariscal and Quatro Ilhas on the eastern side have the surfing community raving.
What sets Bombinhas apart, though, and why we've include it on our Brazil activity menu, is Arvoredo Island. Considered the best place for diving in South Brazil, the south end of the island is open to tour operated dives that will bring you face to face with large turtles and other diverse aquatic life brought together by the intersection warm and cold ocean currents. Visibility is excellent and dive sites abound for any level of training. Night dives can also be provided by local agencies, making for a unique adventure experience.
