Sete Cidades National Park, known as "seven cities" in English, is a national park in the state of Piaui, which is known for its rock art and unusual rock formations. The best way to see the most significant landmarks is with a local guide because they will be hard to locate on your own. If you do wish to trek out, make sure you are prepared for a full day's hike and carry an updated map. The most famous rock formations are the elephant and the turtle, both of which are found in the "sixth city". Other areas of interest include the fifth city, which has what appear to be the stone carvings of hunting rituals, and the second city, which has the highest point in the park. There are also plenty of caves and wildlife within the park vicinity, which is 9km (5.6 miles) from Brasileira, the closest town.
Note:If you do wish to stay in the park overnight, there is a hotel called Fazenda Sete Cidades that also has an attached restaurant.
