Rio de Janeiro is considered one of the best cities in the world for hang gliding because of the incredible views over the rainforest, the Sugarloaf and Corcovado Mountains, and the exceptional bay on which the city rests. Most flights are tandem, meaning that you need no prior experience, and begin from an elevation outside the city, with a landing point on one of Rio's many prominent rooftops. We're kidding, of course; you'll be landing safely on the beach. Feel free to use the links below to start planning, or just seek out a knowledgeable local when you're in town. Either way, rest assured you'll be experiencing one of the most unique hang-gliding opportunities in a city meant to be seen from the sky.
