The most famous live venue in Rio de Janeiro, the Rio Scenarium is a three-floor, antique adorned club that has led the continued gentrification of the Lapa neighborhood. Make reservations or be prepared to wait in line after 10, especially on the weekends, when the best in samba and forro plays to a packed house willing to dance the night away. You'll also find a diverse mixture of ages, tourists and locals, and some of the most attractive decor around.
The one knock against Scenarium is that the cat is out of the bag, and a place that was once a hidden gem in a reviving area is now a tourist hot spot raved about in every travel publication. Nonetheless, you can't fault a place for being popular and the Scenarium is well worth it!
