The ritziest neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, Leblon is westernmost in the popular trifecta of beach areas that include Ipanema and Copacabana. Although not as highly concentrated a nightlife destination as these aforementioned neighborhoods, the collection of establishments along and near parallel-running Ataulfo de Paiva and General San Martin should suffice for those who envision some good beer and outdoor seating. There are trendy choices like Jobi on Ataulfo de Paiva and Veloso on Aristides Espínola, and local gems like Bar Bracarense on José Linhares and Casa do Alemão (try the fried croquettes) on Ataulfo de Paiva. You'll see fewer tourists here than in the adjacent Zona Sul neighborhoods, but you'll also find that the style is generally quite cosmopolitan and inviting and the quite safe (although we still don't suggest you leave your stuff unattended on the beach).
