Located largely to the south and southwest of Sao Paulo's most attractive piece of urban greenery and culture, the Parque de Ibrapuera, Moema is a fantastic collection of both late-night excitement and gastronomic nirvana. The majority of both nightlife and cuisine centers around the Avenida Ibrapuera as it travels between intersections at Avenida Indianópolis and Avenida dos Bandeirantes. As far as food is concerned, you'll find the best pizza this side of Sicily (Braz and Pizzaria Speranza), churrascarias, and even American-style burgers (Lanchonete da Cidade and Burdega). As far as nightlife goes, you'll not see windows rattling from bass-heavy dance music; a blessing for many tastes are the many watering holes you'll encounter instead. Which is not to give the impression that you'll see a ton of dive bars; it is true that many places will be wall-to-wall with locals and a homely vibe may prevail, but you'll be blessed with plumbing that works and cold chopp. We can't imagine anything better.
