The Bokor Hill Station outside of Kampot, Cambodia is an old French colonial ghost town nestled in the misty hills. One can easily rent a motorbike in the town of Kampot and ride the 42 km into the hills. When you reach your destination you will see the vestiges of an old church, casino and post office that were abandoned by the French in the 1940's. The place is downright spooky and the mist of the hills does not make it any less scary. If you continue driving around you can also see a large dry waterfall, a temple and the new hotel casino that does drive tourism and economics in the area.
Any hostel in Kampot will rent out a motorbike for the trip to Bokor. The roads are great and there are no fees to get up to the hill station. Also, when in Kampot make sure to visit the Rusty Keyhole for the best ribs in Cambodia.
