A popular farmer's market in the Little Italy district, Jean-Talon is open year round and is home to over 300 stalls during the summer season. You'll find the usual fresh produce, wines, cheeses, and more from local vendors, as well as permanent eateries like the delectable Alati-Caserta bakery.
Just two blocks up from the Jean-Talon subway station, this is the market to go to when attempting to circumvent the tourists at the Atwater Market and get cheaper prices on the spectrum of available foods. Keep an eye out for Havre-aux-Glaces; they have the best home-made ice cream in Montreal and really whip out unique flavors (pumpkin, grapefruit, and much more). Even if you aren't hungry, it's worth a stroll for the energy and authentic cultural experience that we adventurers seek out.
Note:Open daily at 8am.
