Picturesque Bacvice Beach is situated southeast of downtown Split, well within walking distance of Old Town. During summer days it can be counted on to swell with locals and tourists digging their toes into its small, sandy shoreline; and as we all know, where there are toes digging into sand, there's bout to be food nearby. Head west along Put Firula and you'll come across several relaxed places to sit and grab a bite to eat, or move further inland on ul. Hektorovica to find Retauran Boban, one of Split's talked about high-end eateries (for whatever that's worth).
Okay, okay, cynicism aside, come nightfall the complex on the west end of Bacvice Beach transitions into a 2 story venue encompassing several different bar/club establishments. The music tends to be cliche western radio hits, however you might catch a local live act from time to time. It's a favorite for young Croats looking to mix and mingle, but travelers are always free to try their luck. If you're up for a late weekend night, it's worth at least a look.
