For travelers at least, Old Town and the Riva Promenade (no, it's not a Croatian band...or is it?) sit at the heart of Split's entertainment scene. Here, day and night, restaurants, cafes and small food vendors are bustling with patrons sipping coffee, smoking cigarettes and enjoying both the beautiful sights and culinary flavors of this Dalmatian city. As a general rule of thumb, the farther you venture from Diocletian's Palace the better your chances for snagging a good deal.
While the nightlife may seem fairly tame during the early portion of the week, by Thursday the locals and not-so-locals are ready to dive head first into the waters of inebriation. Early in the evening try a beer an any one of the cafes, then work your way towards the alley containing Ghetto Club and Liquid for a great night with other out-of-towners.
