Kødbyen: The heart of Copenhagen's meat-packing industry. A deluge of dirty, brick-facades in an industrial landscape. Also, believe it or not, fertile ground for both the the city's underground art scene and some of its best nightlife. Only in Copenhagen.
Some of the hippest bars and clubs in the city are tucked behind the warehouse veneer, catering to a variety of clienteles (from hipsters to beer snobs to embarkers). There are plenty of really cool bars, from craft beer experts (Fermentoren on Halmtorvet), jam-packed dives (Mesteren og Lærlingen and Jolene Bar on Flæsketorvet), and even a jack-of-all-trades like Bakken (also on Flæsketorvet). There are also a number of rotating performance spaces and secret parties that go down in the area; keep your ear to the ground and your eye on flyer postings for a heads up while you're in town.
