Digbeth is a district that wears its influences on its sleeve. The vintage industrial architecture, much of it re-appropriated for local businesses and residences, is everywhere. You can't go a block without seeing the great signifier of the growing Irish community, the pub, and an electronic dance scene that has led to queues up and down Digbeth Street since, the the 90's. Just south of city center, the source of most of your nightlife options is along the aforementioned Digbeth Street, where the Custard Factory houses a number of different establishments, the Institute provides access to some of the best DJ's to grace Birmingham, and there are some great Irish pubs that include the rebuilt icon, The Dubliner. For a hidden away gem that thrives late into the night, try Adam & Eve on Bradford, especially if you like intimate live music.
