All right, we're not going to lie to you. We included the Bavarian city of Bamberg because it boasts not one, not two, but EIGHT top-notch microbreweries. For many of our embark.org users, that is enough; for the rest of you, there is generation after generation of culture and architecture, preserved due to it being one of the few cities that escaped the destruction of Allied bombing.
The old town, an authentic medieval setting, is UNESCO certified as a world heritage site. For more information on beer and breweries in Bamberg and the larger Franconian region, check out the included link. This is a great place for a day trip or weekend destination from anywhere in central Germany, including Frankfurt and Nuremburg.
