Wherever in the world you go, people like to offer you advice about what you should and shouldn't do in life. The only problem with this is that the advice people offer is based only upon what they would and wouldn't do in life. Living out a childhood dream of becoming a pirate by building a raft from recycled materials and sailing down the Danube is not an advisable life choice, but if you have the determination to do it, it is entirely possible and you will find your days filled with swimming and reading (as long as you go in summer). Be forewarned that while the Slovakian authorities have no rules against such an adventure, the police in Budapest (Hungary) are likely to arrest you, largely hindering your progress. Not that pirates care about being arrested, of course. Despite this, you will have had a great adventure and always remember your days of living on the river, the ultimate symbol of freedom.
