A high value destination for locals in the summer-time, the Regional Park of Suviana and Brasimone Lakes is a recreational area that centers around the two reservoirs named by its title. Located off of the E35 between Bologna and Florence, this is your best chance to enjoy water-sports like windsurfing and canoeing on open waters outside of a jaunt to the ocean. Not only are there facilities for these activities (we suggest starting at the Camugnano Visitor Center on Piazza Kennedy), but there are hiking and mountain biking trails around the lakes for those who like their land-based excursions (the trek up Mount Calvi is highly recommended for its views over the water and surrounding townships).
Lastly, if you need a day to just relax, lounge on the beach in the village of Stagno. The Embark adventure police won't stop to give you a citation. Promise. Take a look through our links for further information.
