A word that technically references the promenade on the seashore of Puzzuoli, the "Lungomare" has locally come to encompass the whole waterfront of this outlying commune of Naples. Located just up the coast, this city as a whole is popular with domestic travelers looking to view historic attractions like the ancient marketplace ruins of the Macellum of Pozzuoli or the epic Flavian Amphitheater, but the Lungomare shines as a nightlife and cuisine destination that benefits from its lovely ocean views.
Bars like Il Gozzetto and Bare' are staples near the water, while you'll find a number of cafes, burger joints (yes, even in Italy), and pizza stops in the adjoining streets. Also, depending on the night, you can catch some good live music or dj's at Dejavu on Via Campi Flegrei. As a little escape from Naples, the Lungomare is a quality option, despite the fact that it's a bit past its romantic, fisherman's heyday and parking is quite limited near the waterfront.
