Less a battle of man and rapid and more an excursion of serenity along a lazy river, rafting on the Martha Brae is an activity meant for a few hours of relaxation. Departing from Rafter's Village, just inland from Falmouth, you'll take a thirty-foot bamboo raft down this jade river at a leisurely pace with the assistance of a knowledgeable guide. Be ready to learn a lot about the river and be prepared to take a dip, but don't tense yourself up for any adrenaline-upping rapids. Still, if you adjust your expectations, a trip along the Martha Brae might be bit of fun in the midst of your Jamaican adventure.
Note:The Martha Brae originates less than a two hour drive from Negril, although it is much closer to Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. Also, depending on the size of your party, the cost is a minimum of $65 USD.
