    • Summary

Venture a few miles inland of the Watamu Marine Park and you'll arrive at the outskirts of Kenya's Arabuko Sokoke Forest, a vast 420 km2 coastal reserve that's home to wooded hiking trails and a wide variety of distinctively unique wildlife. We're talking African civets, Aders' duiker antelopes and golden-rumped elephant shrews here, folks. But even if the fauna isn't enough to excite you (after parks like Tsavo and the Maasai Mara), cool forest hikes and incredible camping sights like the Nyari Cliffs make Arabuko Sokoke an excellent adventure destination for anyone who has a little extra time to kill in eastern Kenya.
