For those of us who would rather not take a week to scale mountains whose summits rest above the clouds, there are day trips like those to Gunung Panti. About a 9 kilometer (5.6 mile) round trip hike through tropical forest, this is a less strenuous journey through rare flora and fauna, with a pretty decent view at the top. The hardest part is scaling the rock near the summit, but there is a rope provided to assist less fit adventurers
We suggest contacting a guide, because it can be hard to find the starting point of the trail otherwise, being that it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
Note:Gunung Panti is nicely approximate to Johor Bahru, a 45-minute drive northeast of the city.
