A narrow walking street tucked away between the causeway and the grand palace, Medan Selera Meldrum Walk is the most convenient line-up of hawker stalls in Johor Bahru. With about ninety stalls crammed together in this small area, there is an alluring chaos of color, bodies, and smells that make this a truly unique experience. The locals have their favorite stalls, all of which serve a mix of Chinese, Indian, and Malay cuisines, so it may be best to follow your nose and/or watch to see which hawkers may be more popular; try the fresh sugarcane juice.
If you're one to worry about the conditions in which your food is made, then we suggest going somewhere else. If you want a vibrant and authentic eating atmosphere, then forget about fine table-clothes and chandeliers for a while and immerse yourself.
