Nacpan Beach and its twin brother Calitang Beach are the secret gems of El Nido. Whereas the former sleepy fishing village of El Nido Town nowadays sees a good amount of travelers, foreign and local alike, Nacpan seems like a forgotten paradise. Situated about 17 km out of El Nido, the beach is a pristine stretch of golden sand with lush green coconut trees swaying in the tropical winds of Palawan and the azure blue sea. If you come on the right day, you will have the beach all for yourself making it a perfect escape. No crowds, no upscale resorts, no pushy vendors and real road anywhere close – just the lullaby of the ocean as its waves gently caress the islands shoreline.
You can reach Nacpan by tricycle, the Philippine's famous mode of transportation, but the best option is to rent motorbikes in town and go exploring on your own. On the way to Nacpan you will pass sleepy, traditional villages, rice fields and scenery that could easily be featured on a postcard. And once arrived at Nacpan, you can ride your bikes along the deserted beach, your hair blowing in the wind and enjoying the sweet taste of freedom.
