Not known as a European ski capital by any stretch of the imagination, Warsaw still has a trick up its sleeve for those who feel the need to get out on the powder during the winter months. Enter Rybno in Lomza county, with 1.5 km of ski runs available that cover a total altitude difference of about 40 m (131 ft). Yeah, we know, nothing that's going to make your hair stand on end. Still, thrown in 4 ski lifts and a fully stocked ski rental, and you've got yourself a day's worth of (fairly easy) slope tearing to do within a 2 hour drive of the capital. Don't set expectations too high and the experience just may surprise you.
