Embark.org LLC ("Embark.org LLC", "Embark", "we", "us", "our") is an online travel website that provides original authored and user submitted content on travel destinations, as well as providing a platform to connect Travelers with Hosts of travel experiences.
"Content" refers to any information, pictures, text, video, or other media found on Embark.org. This can refer to travel information, as well as policy pages.
"User" or "you" is any person who has visited or will visit Embark.org.
"Registered User" is a person who has visited or will visit Embark.org and go through our registration process.
"Tour Guest" refers to a registered user who reserves and purchases a Bookable Activity available through a Tour Provider.
"Tour Provider" is a company or individual who provides their services to introduce Tour Guests to travel experiences in their area of expertise.
"Bookable Activity" and "Bookable Activities" refer to specific activities that a user can book via Embark.org booking platform.
What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to our newsletter, or respond to a survey.
When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, email address, or location. You may, however, visit our site anonymously. Browsing the site anonymously will not use an SSL connection but rather standard HTTP. By logging in, we can provide you with a more secure browsing experience.
Users of the site will submit certain log data that will be collected by us. This includes information such as IP address, time of access, device used, and pages viewed. This does not only apply to registered users, but all users of the site. Users browsing certain features of our site will submit mobile data such as location based data. If browsing the site via a mobile device, this feature can be disabled in the device's settings.
Additionally, as a Tour Provider on the site, defined as a party that provides guided tours for a service fee, we will collect certain information regarding the type of tours you offer, personal information about the host for background checks, and banking information to fulfill payments.
As a Traveler who books a tour with a Tour Provider, you will be required to submit payment information, which could include bank account, bank card, and/or personal information for verification purposes. This information will not be stored and saved by Embark.org.

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
- To personalize your experience - your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs.
- To improve our website - we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.
- To improve customer service - your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.
- To administer a contest, promotion, survey, or other site feature.
- To send periodic emails - The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
- Improve search function within the Embark Community - Users will be able to search and find other registered users by searching for the full name entered at the time of registration.
- Transaction settlement between Travelers and Tour Providers for tours booked on Embark.org. Your payment will be processed using Braintree Payments system. Your banking information will not be saved by Embark.org.

This includes using SSL encryption for pages that transmit user data as well as email and other authentication methods to validate user integrity.

The submission of reviews or media related to any of the countries, cities, and activities on the site is at the user's discretion. These reviews, posts, and other submissions could be publicly associated with the user's Embark account. However, no personally identifiable information, other than the user's username and profile image, will be shared publicly in relation to any post.
