Seven of the painted monasteries (Voronet, Sucevita and more) in Bucovina are featured on UNESCO’s World heritage sites. Built in 15th or 16th century, these buildings are covered with vibrant and beautiful frescoes that were preserved to this day. The monasteries remain places of worship today, but visitors are always welcome, and can also enjoy during their visit the quiet green hills and quaint peaceful villages of Northern Romania. These areas can be reached from the nearest city Suceava by bus, or by bike if you have two three days and a lot of enthusiasm.
Note:Voronet Monastery has been featured on the map.
