This is a beautiful river in the heart of Cairngorms National Park. It is famous as a wild brown trout fishery, as well as a place of natural beauty. There are many good hikes along its banks through fields of sheep and dense woodland. The fishing here is on private land so with a permit you can be the only person casting for miles. In the upper stretches, the river flows through thick forests. It is small and difficult to access at points. In the lower stretches towards Inverness, the river widens and flows through some larger valleys and fields.
