    • Summary
There may be no better street in Granada to cater to a traveler's desire for both food and drink than the southern half of Calle Elvira prior to its culmination in Plaza Nueva. Whether you fancy a typical Andalusian meal in an authentic setting, the best run of tapas joints in the city, or a few bars that even include the usual ex-pat friendly Irish pub, Calle Elvira has got it.

A few tapas places have reputations that precede them for consistent quality and raucous, exciting atmospheres. Restaurante Bar León, Bodegas Castañeda, Bodega La Antigualla, and La Bella y bestia II lead the pack with both tapas and other typical Spanish cuisine, although the level of competition on the street ensures that you'll be satisfied with whatever door you walk through. You'll also find the Granada tradition of free tapas with beer purchases still going, making for a free meal's worth of tapas sharing if you're keeping your pitcher full and bringing friends.

Hannigan & Sons is the aforementioned Irish pub, while Seco is your modern gastropub with a tapas twist. Also, if you're looking for more clubbing-style nightlife, Granada 10 is arguably the best place in town to catch live music that isn't flamenco.
