Shrouded in myth and mystery, this limestone island (a constant fixture off the southwestern Ibizan coast) can be reached by boat for those daring enough to brave it's legendary terra firma. Legendary, we say? Why yes. Es Vedra is purported to be highly magnetic (literally), has been host to a number of UFO sightings, and has is, according to some reports, the island of sirens in Homeric lore. Sadly, none of these things have been proven, which does nothing to take away Es Vedra's beauty and prevailing sense of mystery.
If you'd like to spend more than a few minutes near this great photo opportunity, we suggest chartering your own boat or finding a tour organizer that will allow you to linger; otherwise, you can circle the island with any of a number of tour operators. Then again, if a view of the island during sunset piques your interest and you aren't into shelling out cash for a boat ride, then drive and hike up to La Torre des Savinar, an 18th century watchtower that is privy to some of Ibiza's most spectacular views.
