Worth it alone for the stunning sunset view of the harbor, Ibiza Castle rises above the cobble-stoned streets of the old town (Dalt Vila). A UNESCO world heritage site, it also includes the Governor's House and the Almudaina, which houses the military and administrative sections of the fortress. The best part of all? It's free. Make sure to wear walking shoes though, because the smooth stone and incline have been known to give unprepared travelers some trouble. If anything, take as many breaks as you need at the little cafes and eateries that reside in the buildings along the way, turning your stroll into a great half-day adventure.
Location:Ibiza Old Town
Note:Try the Passeig de Vara de Rey for a handful of good coffee shops and possibly the best tapas in Ibiza at La Cava. Many establishments will have outdoor seating with views of the castle above, making for a serene daytime backdrop between hectic nights.
