This Swiss valley town should be next on your list if you want to ski 6000 foot vertical during the day and immerse yourself in the après ski culture at night. After a long day of skiing, you can’t go wrong sharing a round of beers and cheese fondue with your friends.
Verbier is located in the Canton of Valais in one of Switzerland’s largest nature reserves called Val De Bagnes. Yes, you will see beautiful glaciers and plenty of black cows in the area. This region is spectacular and the town is amazing, but the main reason I explored Verbier just happened to be for the skiing! The terrain is so vast; it’s perfect for every skill level. My friend and I even ventured down some really steep shoots I’m not sure I’ll do again. Verbier is part of “Les Quatre Vallées” or The Four Valleys. Huge trams connect the massive Alps together from peak to peak, which make it possible to ski from town to town. In Europe, it is very common to buy one lift pass that encompasses many ski resorts. Les Quatre Vallées ski pass allows you shred Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon. This perk is great for you off-piste rippers, giving you more terrain to find fresh lines.
