Home to the much touted Erawan Falls, the eponymous 550 sq. km. Erawan National Park is a beautiful sanctuary of wilderness and wildlife in western Thailand. Come on a weekday to avoid the sometimes overwhelming crowds and you'll get the most out of the experience, which for most travelers includes a rugged hike to the 7th tier of the falls.
Should you feel like extending your stay, there are some bungalows available as well as camping areas within the park. This is your best bet for exploring the caves and wildlife that exist away from its most visited paths and attractions. There's plenty of information available at the visitor's center as well, so you won't be setting out blindly.
Location:Si Sawat, Kanchanaburi, Thailand
Note:Your best bet for arriving at Erawan National Park without personal transportation is via the public bus from nearby Kanchanaburi. The journey takes just under 90 minutes.
