Beautiful Si Lanna (at times spelled Sri Lanna) National Park occupies over 1,400 sq. km of forested and mountainous terrain in northern Chiang Mai Province. Included in this area are a system of scenic caves, multi-tiered waterfalls, fresh water springs, mountains, a reservoir; you know, pretty much the standard list of cool attractions for most national parks in this adventure-rich country.
If you're interested in exploring Doi Chom Hot, the park's tallest peak at 1,700+ meters, give yourself plenty of time and be sure to get some info at park headquarters first before checking out the fantastic views. For those who prefer getting out on the water, it's kind of hard to miss the sizable Mae Ngat Somboon Chon Reservior, or "Mae Ngat" for short; set out on a kayak, take an exploratory boat ride, book a night at the well known "floating house," or just grab something to eat at one of the small restaurants waterside and take in the view. Nong Pha and Pha Daeng Caves, as well as the 9-level Mon Hin Lai waterfall make cool additions to the itinerary too. Check out our links for the official site and more info, and enjoy another beautiful stretch of Thai countryside you never knew existed.
