If your travels in Thailand put you in Chiang Mai on a Sunday between, oh, let's say 4 pm and midnight, then you're in luck. Granted, the Sunday Market on Rachadamnoen Road might be slightly touristy, and yes, the wares sold here may be similar (or identical) to wares you've seen elsewhere on your journeys throughout the country, but the spectacle is still something you'll want to experience for yourself. Stroll down the congested street haggling with vendors for great bargains on Thai silk tablecloths, jewelry and wooden-frog instruments, or just grab a cheap bite to eat and watch the scene unfold before you. In this lively atmosphere of people, color and light, it's hard not to have a good time, so why miss out?
