At an elevation of 7,300 feet, Boulder Basin is one of the more remote and less touristy campgrounds in Idyllwild. Although the name speaks for itself, Boulder Basin remains a moderately-kept secret for first-class bouldering in Southern California. It is also a spectacular campground with large campsites, clean facilities, towering evergreen trees, and access to several hiking trails including the Pacific Crest Trail. During this 3-day/2-night tour, we'll explore (and hopefully send!) many of the boulders around Boulder Basin and Black Mountain. During the down time, we'll relax, enjoy the views, eat good food and drink good beer/wine. For adventure-seekers, Boulder Basin is one of the best places in SoCal to spend your weekend. An unforgettable experience awaits. Don't miss out!
Any weekend in Spring, Summer, or Fall.
I've camped at Boulder Basin many times over the past 4 years, have sended many of the popular bouldering problems in the area.
