An easy and enjoyable snowshoe through breathtaking snow-sprinkled woods offers a great way to relax and enjoy the Rockies without without pushing yourself too hard. The hike to the shimmering frozen Lost Lake is a gentle 6 miles total, there and back, and it runs from 8810 miles to 9780 miles in elevation, with only a couple short sections of steep terrain.
I am available any time December 18th, 2014 - January 11th, 2015. After that I am available Thursday-Sunday as long as you book the tour two weeks in advance.
I grew up in Boulder, CO enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. I have snowshoed and hiked many of the trails in and around Boulder, and have been leading outdoor trips for over two years. Also, I have taken a Wilderness First Responder medical course, and am trained in Wilderness survival skills, navigation, and avalanche awareness.
I will have a first aid kit, three shovels, an avalanche probe and a beacon. You can easily rent snowshoes for $12 a day at Crystal Ski Shop 3216 Arapahoe Avenue Suite H Boulder, CO 80303 (303)449-7669. You can also rent a shovel, probe and avalanche beacon there if it makes you feel more comfortable, but this trail has a very low avalanche danger.
