Weekends - March 1 - Nov 1 - Weather and River Condition Dependent
My first introduction to the art of hunting gold was made by my now long time mining partner and boyfriend. After I saw that first spec of GOLD gleaming in the sunlight at the bottom of my pan, I knew I was hooked. Since then "Gold Fever" has taken its toll on me. So much so, that we decided to start Gold Troll Prospecting Adventures (GTPA) as a way to share our passion with others. We now spend the majority of our free time immersed in unlocking and perfecting the secrets of finding and mining GOLD from the rivers and mountains of Colorado. We have spent countless hours exploring old mines, designing and constructing our own mining equipment, studying maps, drawings, videos, history books and endlessly prospecting new areas for gold, to take the guess work out of finding GOLD for you! We invite you to come explore the romance and allure of GOLD mining in the Colorado Rockies with Gold Troll Prospecting Adventures. Your Adventure Awaits! What are You Waiting For?
All prospecting equipment will be provided for day use by GTPA. (Inc: Gold Pan, Classifier Tray, Bucket, Shovel, Snuffer Bottle, Gold Vile) All other prospecting equipment is shared by the group. Bottled water and healthy snacks will also be provided. Please bring a lunch that will travel well. We will be working in wet, aquatic environments so appropriate attire and footwear is required. One must take caution working in mountain rivers and streams, they can vary greatly in both temperature, water level and conditions depending on time of year. Weather changes rapidly and without warning in Colorado, so please prepare accordingly. A warm dry change of clothes is recommended along with a waterproof windbreaker. We ask that you wear a suitable boot or shoe that will offer adequate protection in a wet, rocky and slippery environment. You should feel comfortable working in and out of the water in your footwear for an extended period of time. Feel free to wear rain boots, hip boots or chest waders if you have them. Early spring and late fall expeditions typically see lower temperatures and cooler water in the steep dark canyons of the Rockies. Summer expeditions are very warm. Most days only a bathing suit, shorts, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a t-shirt is required but always be prepared for poor weather, just in case. "Prospecting Starter Kits" and informational books will be available for purchase at the end of the tour.
Full refund 2 days prior to tour.
