After getting your rental bikes (if needed), we will head along the River Road dyke, passing by the beautiful John M. S. Lecky UBC Boathouse and Richmond Olympic Oval with the North Shore Mountains as backdrop. We will follow the water at Terra Nova Park and take the West Dyke to Garry Point Park and Steveston. You have the option to visit the Gulf of Georgia Cannery before we stop for lunch at one of the many seafood restaurants in the village. Continuing on the South Dyke, we will take a trip to the past at the Britannia Shipyards, London Heritage Farm, and Finn Slough, a tiny fishing community where residents still live in the floating or raised wooden houses. We will return along quiet roads through Richmond's farmlands and residential areas to the starting point. For those who want more cycling, we can add on a trip to Sea Island, site of Vancouver International Airport, and Iona Beach, where we can watch for seals on a four kilometer spit out into the ocean. Please note that all trips can be customized to your needs, just let me know if there are specific places you want to see.
