This is a beautiful drive about 30 minutes south of Denver, traveling south on CO 85 (Santa Fe Drive) to the town of Sedalia. From here the tour travels west into the mountains ascending a narrow twisting scenic road to the Rampart Range recreation area in the Pike National Forest. There are many pullouts, rock formations and vistas along the 9 mile dirt road. The Devils Head area has beautiful picnic and camping areas. There is a 1.5 mile moderate to strenuous hike up to a beautiful meadow surrounded by big rocks and spectacular views of the South Platte Valley to the west and the eastern plains below.
7 days a week for now
I have lived in the area for over 20 years and have hiked the trail extensively. I am familiar with the trails, weather conditions and rescue procedures if needed.
This is a good adventure for parents with children, it can be a half day hike and picnic or it can be a whole day with dinner availability at Zokas Restaurant in beautiful Pine, Colorado.
Full refund 2 days prior to tour.
Any Park and Ride (RTD) location along Santa Fe Drive.
