Come along on the day trip of a lifetime through northern Baja! We've been enjoying the food, wine and culture in Ensenada and the Valle de Guadalupe for years and can take you to the places you'd never discover on your own. Just a hop, skip and a jump away from San Diego. You'll experience the ORIGINAL fish taco, one of the oldest mariachi bars in Mexico, and amazing, affordable unique wines from the up-and-coming Ruta del Vino. Option to extend your tour, spending the night in an Ensenada hotel and enjoying the wineries for a second day
Available any day of the week with 2 weeks advance notice. Available most Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays with less notice.
We are a couple of San Diego locals who have been road tripping through Baja multiple times a year for the last 3 years. Through working as a chef and a bartender in San Diego for several years we've befriended several of the prominent chefs, winemakers, and owners of awesome Valle wineries and restaurants. Plus, we LOVE it down there!

  • Day 1
Morning- Pickup at your accommodation in central or south San Diego County Drive south from San Diego across the border through Tijuana and Rosarito. Enjoy gorgeous coastline views along the fast and safe toll road route. Lunch- Stop in Ensenada, the home of the original fish taco! Enjoy a lunch of traditional fish and shrimp tacos, ceviche, and aguachiles at the Ensenada port and fish market! *Vegetarian options available Walk to Hussong's Cantina, one of the oldest bars in Mexico for some STRONG margaritas and mariachi music. Stop at souvenir carts along the way. Afternoon- Continue driving northeast into the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's most famous wine region. Stop along the way at several wineries for tastings of wine, local cheese and bread. Experience the innovative and unique design and architecture. You won't find anything like it in Napa Valley! Our favorite wineries are Xecue, Vena Cava, Las Nubes, and Lechuza but we can stop anywhere you want! Dinner- Multiple dinner options! This region is home to "Baja Med" cuisine, in which authentic homestyle Mexican food and ingredients meets European classical technique. We love Chef Javier Plascencia's Finca Altozano, where you can sit outside at rustic wine-barrel tables and watch your dishes prepared in a giant wood-burning oven. Additional options include Jair Tellez's Laja ("the French Laundry of Mexico") Diego Hernandez's Corazon de Tierra (a multi-course spectacular of local/seasonal plates), or more tacos, of course! Evening- Hopefully stuffed and sated, enjoy the relaxing drive back to San Diego!
