Well, I was a Hike and Backpack leader for a meetup group for two years, then I was a volunteer Wilderness Ranger in the Ventana Wilderness for two years, which led me to be a Volunteer Wilderness Ranger in the Sierra for two years. This journey started the formation of Wilderness Corps, a non-profit in 2013. Wilderness Corps provides Volunteer Trail Crew Services to the Sierra and Sequoia National Forests.
For Wilderness Corps I lead groups of volunteers out into the back country for weekends to extended periods of time.

We will caravan down to the trail head in Big Sur, CA about 20 miles south of Carmel. This will allow you to go explore Big Sur on your own for dinner and I will give you some tips of course.
This hike glides above the ocean about 80 feet from the sea, on a bluff where we will walk south observing lots of both plant and animal life. The smell of the Pacific Ocean coupled with that of California Sage are overpowering on this walk. We will be able to walk on a secluded beach and watch the sea life. A good part of this walk is spent discovering the various coves that are secretly tucked away throughout this beach walk.
This is a moderate to good workout. The total distance is about 8.0 miles.
