The 3 Sisters wilderness of Central Oregon is one of the most geologically diverse and beautiful wilderness areas the Pacific Northwest has to offer. While on this journey you will explore rugged volcanic landscapes complete with expansive pumice fields, pristine melt lakes, quiet old-growth forests, newly recovering burn areas, peaceful wildflower meadows, and glossy obsidian streams. The loop is a little over 50 miles and there will be a handful of side adventures for those looking to maximize their experience. Food and fuel are provided and will be split between group members. It is recommended that potential adventurers have at least a bit of backpacking experience.
Mid/Late Spring through early October, weather depending.
I have logged many hundreds of trail miles in and around the 3 Sisters Area. I am also an experienced tracker, geology buff, and history buff so you will undoubtedly walk away from the experience with new insight of the natural world and (probably) stiff legs
