Located between Autzen Stadium and the UofO, along the bike and running paths, the Eugene Canal slowly meanders through hazelnut orchards, unique canal-front homes, and under wooden bridges. This is an easy paddle, great for anyone looking for a little adventure close to home. 1.5-2 hours.
Regularly available, rain or shine.
This is one of my favorite kayaking spots - so close to town, easy to navigate, and absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. I have done this specific trip dozens of times.

We will be using my Orukayak - this is an awesome foldable double-corrugated plastic kayak. I have two and have been using them for years. If you have your own kayak, or a friend who would like to join us with their own kayak, let's make it happen!

Meet at launch site. Assemble kayaks together (this is optional because they are so cool I want to share the experience if you're up for it, otherwise, I'll just do it!). Paddle upstream about 1.25 miles, then turn around and explore an off-shoot. Snacks and drinks can be enjoyed in the kayaks while viewing wildlife from the pond where the canal opens up.
