A tour of Icehouse Canyon including light hiking, play, and games. I create environmental games and play experiences and practice natural parkour. Depending on your interests I have a wide selection of games to choose from as well as activities from the strenuous (rock hopping) to the relaxing (dam building).
I am available on weekdays and weekends 10AM-7PM to run this adventure, but availability depends on transportation schedule as I share a car. If you can pick me up in a car in Claremont that is preferable (save gas, CO2, and the environment)
I am an ecological play designer and adventurer whose games have been played at Come Out & Play SF 2013 & 2015 and whose log-chopping axcraft-teaching game was featured at Indiecade 2015. The rest of the trilogy of games were adventure/action sports for the beach and river using only natural materials and the environment to create chaotic physical play. I am also in the process of popularizing my specific practice of ecoparkour and have been hiking, biking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting and many other things all over the US, Canada, and Europe. I also improvisationally design games and am a big proponent of natural play in all its possible forms.
  • One improvisationally designed environmental game for you
  • A tour of the wonderful hike along Icehouse Canyon up Mt. Baldy
  • Shoes for light hiking
  • A creative spirit
  • Openness to the natural world
  • I usually prefer barefoot, but some people probably would want athletic shoes for it
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
This activity can also be scaled down and made safer to be appropriate for kids. When I was little I used to play in nature while camping and hiking all across the Southwestern US.
Full refund 2 days prior to tour.
