Eagle Creek can easily be counted among the most highly regarded hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. After all, it's got everything you could ask for in the PNW, including cliffs, waterfalls, river pools, and plenty of rich forest scenery. While Punchbowl Falls gets most of the attnetion, nearby Metlako Falls is just one of many other valley offerings that often get overlooked. Other notable highlights include High Bridge, Tunnel Falls, and the unmistakable Crossover Falls. Keep in mind that camping is permitted only after High Bridge, and you'll have to go without a campfire during the busiest months of summer.
Most weekdays and some weekends. Check availability in advance.
This is one of my all time favorite hikes in the gorge and I have been up and down it more than 20 times in the past 6 years.
