The Misery Ridge Trail traverses one of Oregon's most memorable landscapes as it winds through the Crooked River Gorge, crossing a bridge and winding hikers up the region's unmistakable "golden cliffs." The summit gives you a beautiful view over the river 700 ft below, including an opportunity to appreciate the well known Monkey Face formation. You can even catch glimpses of the Cascades if the infamous Pacific Northwest clouds clear up. Even though the trail is only about 4 miles, it gets incredibly hot during the summer so plenty of water and good timing are essential. Otherwise, this is truly one of the most unique adventures you can experience around Portland!
