Join an invigorating hiking adventure to the fire lookout on top of Mount Pilchuck! This intermediate 5.4 mile round trip hike involves a 2,300 foot elevation gain. On a clear day, the 360-degree view reveals the magnificent assortment of mountains that Washington has to offer. This includes Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker as well as the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges. On extra clear days you can even spot Seattle off in the distance and the gorgeous scenery just below the drop offs on all sides is breath taking. This is a mountain hike that does not require any special equipment. With the highest point of the hike being 5,327 feet in elevation, you can proudly say that you have climbed to the top of a mountain!
Saturdays and Sundays
Growing up less than an hour away from Mount Pilchuck, I have hiked it solo and with groups many times over the years. My love and respect for this mountain have only grown since the first time I have ascended to its peak. I have done this hike in the day as well as at night in pitch darkness and am very accustomed to navigating the trails. My style is to pick up a quicker pace on hikes but I am happy to take a slower, more relaxed pace as well, in order to take breaks, drink water and observe the surrounding beauty along the way.

Please contact me to decide what time and location is best to meet you. I can also offer a pick up in my car at any location along the I-5 corridor from Seattle Center exits to Everett. If you prefer, I can also meet you at the trail head. It is advisable to start the hike by or before 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in order to avoid getting caught on the trail at sun down. My aim is to get us back to the car before dark in case we get a moderately late start to the hike.
