Spend your day in charming Montenegro exploring the natural beauty and historical cities of this small country. After visiting the old towns of Perast and Kotor, enjoy a scenic tour of Sveti Stefan before making your way to Budva, one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic coast. Take in beautiful views of Dubrovnik’s Old Town as you head out of the city and drive along the enchanting Adriatic coast to the neighboring country of Montenegro. Despite its small size, Montenegro offers a great variety of nature, history, culture, and tradition. Visit the coastal town of Risan and then stop at one of the most iconic places on the Bay of Kotor—Perast. Admire the gorgeous Baroque and Venetian architecture and perhaps take an optional boat trip to the small islet Our Lady of the Rocks before heading to Kotor. In Kotor—a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its many ancient monuments and well-preserved Medieval architecture—follow your guide through the city’s historical center and spend some time at your leisure. Continue to Sveti Stefan and learn about the interesting history of this small islet before your last stop, the walled town of Budva, known for its sandy beaches and diverse nightlife. After a tour of the city’s Old Town, a short ferry ride takes you back to Dubrovnik.

Kotor is one of the most popular towns in Montenegro. Located in the Bay of Kotor, the city retains a strong Venetian influence and its walled Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Along with the Old Town, the city walls, and the coastal views, another popular site in Kotor is the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon (or Tripun), which dates back to 1166. Herceg Novi Another Montenegrin coastal city, Herceg Novi is located at the entrance of the Bay of Kotor, at the foot of Mount Orjen. The city is one of the youngest settlements on the Adriatic coast, yet offers up plenty of sightseeing opportunities. Some of the most popular include several fortresses (like Forte Mare), churches (like St Michael Archangel Church), and the Old Town. Herceg Novi is a popular destination for both international and local tourists, with many Montenegrin's escaping to this seaside destination because of its reputation as a spa and health center. Budva Further down along the coast, Budva lies roughly 2.5 hours from Dubrovnik. This popular resort city (currently the most popular in Montenegro) is full of young sun-chasers in the summer months, making for crowded pebble beaches and a bustling nightlife scene. Other than seaside bars and thumping party music, though, Budva also boasts a walled Old Town full of shops and narrow cobbled streets, as well as views of the exclusive island hotel of Sveti Stefan.
