Guide and driver will meet in Tbilisi to start a trip to Kakheti, the birthplace of winemaking. From Tbilisi to the capital of the region Telavi runs a beautiful serpentine - Gombor Pass (100 km, 2 hours). In Telavi stands a monument to Heraclius II of Georgia, reigning as the king of Kakheti from 1744 to 1762, and of Kartli and Kakheti from 1762 until 1798. Walk through the historic part of the city. Departure from Telavi to Tsinandali, where the residence of Prince Chavchavadze, father-in-law of the Russian writer Alexander Griboedov, is located. The estate is rich in a luxurious English park and the collections of the oldest wines of Georgia: wines of the 40s of the 19th century are kept in Tsinandali cellars. Continuation to the city of Sikhnagi, surrounded by a fortified wall with 23 towers, which in the Middle Ages was one of the most important trading points on the Silk Road. Walk around the city, return to Tbilisi. On the way stop at the monastery complex Bodbe, where, according to legend, St. Nino was buried, which brought Christianity to Georgia in the fourth century. By decree of Emperor Alexander III, from 1889, Bodbe functions as a convent. Arrival in Tbilisi. End of the tour.
